Octomom charged: Octomom accused of failing to report income, charged

Octomom was charged with welfare fraud last week. On Jan. 13, CBS News reported that Nadya Suleman, better known as Octomom, was charged with one count of aid by misrepresentation and two counts of perjury by false application for aid. Apparently Octomom failed to report over $30,000 in earnings but filed for government assistance nonetheless.

The mom of fourteen (who got her nickname by giving birth to eight children at once) was rumored to be in trouble with the federal government and alas the rumors have turned out to be true. The DA will be asking for her to be held on $25,000 bail at her upcoming hearing.

Octomom being charged is no surprise to most given the money problems that she has had in the past. She has filed for bankruptcy, faced foreclosure, and has done numerous things (like stripping) to try and make some extra cash to keep her and her kids off the streets. It has been a tough road for Nadya Suleman and this new trouble could really set her back.

"While applying for public aid, the mother of 14 children allegedly failed to disclose that she was also getting checks for personal appearances and residuals from videos. She allegedly failed to report the extra income she earned between Jan. 1, 2013, and June 30, 2013," the DA’s office said (via CBS News).

Although Octomom was charged with fraud, some think that she will get away with it... but others know better. What do you think will become of Octomom?
