A dog can make a house a home.
The American Humane Association celebrates “Adopt-A-Dog-Month” in October and encourages people to get out there and volunteer, give support or adopt a dog. There are millions of dogs in shelters who have very uncertain futures and would be a great asset to a loving home.
The American Humane Association was founded in 1877 and offers protection for animals and children from cruelty, neglect and exploitation. This non profit association provides training programs, legislation and violence prevention to protect animals and children and is responsible for the “No animals were harmed” disclaimer you may have seen at the end of a movie or television production.
By clicking on the link below you can see how you can volunteer and or support the continuation of this organization and help find homes for homeless dogs.
Volunteer:
There are many ways to volunteer; taking pictures of dogs that are available for adoption may help by finding parents for the dogs. Maybe you like to write a little or edit? You could possibly volunteer some of your time to editing stories for the organization and spreading the word.
Support:
Monetary contributions are welcome but also welcome are other donations like blankets, toys, dog food and volunteering some of your time. All together this adds up to supporting a wonderful cause and helping pets and children.

Just look at the love in the eyes of this loved dog.
Adopt a dog during the month of October to celebrate a wonderful organization. The American Humane Association is working for you, your children and your pets.
Finding the right pet to adopt can as easy as looking at one. Who could resist such loving eyes?
