Straight from her starring role in Robert Lepage’s production of the Ring Cycle at New York’s Metropolitan Opera, Mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe makes her way to Chicago for her Harris Theater debut to perform works by Haydn and Handel with Les Violons du Roy on October 17, 2013. Soprano Susanna Phillips, a star of New York’s Metropolitan and Chicago’s Lyric Opera stages, will headline a concert at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, in Chicago’s Anderson Chapel at North Park University on 5149 N. Spaulding Avenue to benefit the spring 2014 Bach Week Festival.
“This will be a special opportunity to hear Susanna Phillips in a setting far more intimate than an opera house or symphony hall,” says Richard Webster, Bach Week Festival co-founder and music director.
