Has anyone with an Xbox 360 still not played "Halo 3?"
After the Games with Gold program was first announced at E3 back in June, and "Halo 3" failed to show up month after month, subscribers started to get angry that one of the promised AAA titles wasn't on the docket.
Perhaps that anger is based on principle, because it's hard to imagine that "Halo 3," one of the most heavily promoted titles in the history of video games (anyone remember Game Fuel?), the fifth best-selling Xbox 360 title and the best-selling game in the "Halo" series, is on any rare game collector's must-have list.
Nevertheless, "Halo 3," along with "Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes," will be available for free through Games with Gold this month, according to Xbox Live Director of Programming Larry Hryb, a.k.a. Major Nelson. Both titles are normally priced at $14.99.
A RPG-puzzle game hybrid, "Clash of Heroes" was originally released in 2009 for the Nintendo DS. It was later released as a downloadable title for the 360 and the PlayStation 3 in 2011. "Halo 3" was originally released in 2007; it was the best-selling video game that year. "Clash of Heroes" will be available from Oct. 1 to Oct. 15, with "Halo 3" available after.
