The park’s annual Trail of Scarecrows will open on October 1 and will remain open for viewing through October 31. The decorated scarecrows, along with signs indicating the names of the scarecrows and also the builders, will be placed along a paved path that visitors can either hike or bike. A section of the trail is also visible along the park road for those driving into the park.
This exhibit is open to the public and is a free activity. Voting for favorite scarecrows will take place at the Driftwood Restaurant in the lodge.
Campers will be delighted with Spooktacular Weekend with family-friendly activities all day Saturday, October 19, 2013 when ghosts and goblins take over the park’s campground.
Among the activities planned are costume contests, pumpkin roll contests, and trick-or treating for children. Campers at the park are encouraged to bring candy for the little ones during this special event.
