Her distinguished career has included many years with ABC (the American Broadcasting Company), Radio City Music Hall, and the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts in New York City, where she provided pro bono legal services in contracts and licensing matters to dancers, writers, and musicians. Currently, she's licensed to practice law in Florida, New York and Pennsylvania.

October 29: (5:30 - 7:30 p.m.): ART Connects - Jury Process with Sharon McAllister, ArtFest Fort Myers
This session will help artists gain more insight into what jurors are looking for when they view and select work for shows, especially in the electronic processes that are becoming more and more prevalent in the industry. ArtFest Fort Myers Executive Director Sharon McAllister leads the conversation.
With business degrees from the University of Hawaii and the University of Chicago, she became a part of the Lee County community upon her early retirement at the age of 39. Her experience as a Divisional Vice President with H&R Block quickly transitioned into active local community service. In 2000, at the request of Don Paight, City of Fort Myers Downtown Redevelopment Director, Sharon took over the existing "Lee Sidewalk Arts & Crafts Show" with the understanding that she would form a not-for-profit organization and transform this annual event into ArtFest Fort Myers, a juried fine art festival. Under her tutelage, this event has quickly gained national recognition, while bringing an unparalleled art experience to the community.
ART Connects explores the power of creativity and includes workshops for artists about the business side of their career. Sponsors enjoy a high level of prominence as it recurs throughout the season. The lectures are free to the public.
