On October 4, get ready for a night of brutal metal, as Yazzie Demise presents Shiprock’s “Friday Night Death Fest,” featuring Left to Rot, Defleshment, Crepitus, Heavy Metal Blood Drive, The Creeping Puppets, and Decayed Angel. Gates for this all-ages show open at 5:30 p.m., with the first band taking the stage at 6:15 p.m. This event takes place at Shiprock’s South Highway 666, with the stage at Obee’s Tire Repair Shop (Across KFC). Tickets are $13 in advance, $16 at the gate. Note that there will be a $1 re-entry fee.
Formed in 2004, Left to Rot hail from Laguna, New Mexico. These dudes are known for their dense guitar rhythms, blast beats, and harsh vocals. The band’s debut EP is titled Bathe in Blood, which they followed up with the full-length studio CD Crown of Deception.
Hailing from the Laguna Pueblo, Defleshment play brutal death metal. The band cites as influences Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, and Left to Rot.
Farmington’s Crepitus play a combination of thrash and death metal. As the band says, “Sickening sounds and morbid fixations play the soundtracks to our lives.”
From out of the Navajo Nation in Arizona (which the band describes as a third-world nation within a plush nation) come Heavy Metal Blood Drive, a band that plays searing thrash metal. Check out their noise at ReverbNation.
Hailing from Arizona, The Creeping Puppets play metal “that delivers speed, precision, and style influenced by the likes of Metallica, Megadeth, Lamb of God, DevilDriver, and much much more!” The band’s Dead Dog Demo II is out now.
