Fall means festivals in St. Charles County. These (mostly) family friendly events offer weekend diversions close to home.
Most events are free. Of course, you pay for food and drink. Check the festival websites for more information.
Following is a sampling of local festivals in October:
Oct. 5, 6: Lake Saint Louis Oktoberfest, National Equestrian Center. This annual event is the biggest fundraiser for The Ambassadors, a city civic projects organization. Rides, booths, children's activities, music...and beer. www.lslambassadors.com.
Oct. 11: Fall Fest Street Dance, O'Fallon Civic Park. Rock and roll music by Trixie Delight. Festival food and drink are available. www.ofallon.mo.us.
Oct. 12: Fall Harvest Folk Music Festival, Foristell Towne Park. Folk and bluegrass music, music-related demonstrations and activities, plus tours of the "Pink Plantation." www.stccparks.org.
Oct. 19: Cottleville Fall Festival, Legacy Park. The website will have updated information on Cottleville's yearly event. www.cityofcottleville.com.
