The Feast of Tabernacles is Coming!
Each year for the past 24 years, Christian Retreat in Bradenton, Florida has celebrated the Feast of Tabernacles. This is one of the Feasts of the Lord. We find three of them Leviticus 23: the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Booths, or Tabernacles.
“The seventh and final Feast of the Lord is the Feast of Tabernacles. It occurs five days after the Day of Atonement on the fifteenth of Tishri (October). How will they celebrate here in Bradenton? This is not Jerusalem! Yet it is Jerusalem in the participants' hearts.
October 12-19, 2011, 1200 Glory Way Boulevard will become the path for celebration. Pastors Phil and Jannette Derstine have chosen Psalm 66:5 as the theme for this year's Feast. “Come and see the Goodness of our God!” Vs 16...”Come and Hear, all you who reverently and worshipfully fear God, and I will declare what He has done for me!”
Each night there will be Pageantry, Processionals, Corporate Worship, and Spontaneous Worship. Special Speakers are brought for this great event. Jimmie Black and his team will lead worship during this special week. International Worship Leader Paul Wilbur will be singing on October 12. He will teach on Oct 13. New York Times best selling author Mike Evans will speak on Saturday night and Sunday morning. Dr Ann Higgins and her husband Pastor Henry Higgins will speak Monday and Tuesday. A Food Festival will be initiated on Friday.
Each morning will begin with a teaching session. Workshops are offered every afternoon at 2 pm.They can be as varied as Kosher Kitchen, Shofar, Dance, Tabernacle Worship, to How to Build your own Succot!
Dance teams from across Manatee and Sarasota Counties are preparing presentation pieces. Others are coming from across the state and the nation. A team of teens from the Bahamas will also be participating. Miracle Manor, the hotel on property is almost full. Hundreds of people will celebrate the Feast. Will you be one of them?
