For Tuesday, October 8 2013 LA TV Insider Examiner recommends:
The Originals (The CW, 8 p.m.) - "House of the Rising Sun" - When Rebekah (Claire Holt) arrives in New Orleans at her brother Elijah’s (Daniel Gillies) insistence, she meets Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), who gives her some unexpected news. Concerned that her brother Klaus is up to no good, Rebekah seeks help from a reluctant Sophie (Daniella Pineda.) At her wits’ end, Hayley takes matters into her own hands, but things quickly take a dangerous turn. Determined to uncover Marcel’s (Charles Michael Davis) secret weapon, Klaus stays one step ahead and executes his plan. Meanwhile, after a run-in with Marcel, Rebekah is reminded of all the anger and disappointment Klaus has caused her throughout the years. Finally, Marcel enlists Davina’s (Danielle Campbell) help in his own dangerous plan.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine (FOX, 8:30 p.m.) - "M.E. Time" - Much to the team’s annoyance, Jake (Andy Samberg) hits on an attractive medical examiner, Dr. Rossi (guest star Mary Elizabeth Ellis), at a crime scene and holds up the autopsy report. He learns his lesson when Dr. Rossi turns out to be more than he bargained for. Meanwhile, Amy’s (Melissa Fumero) purse-snatching case is stalled when the sketch artist is out sick, but she discovers that Sgt. Jeffords (Terry Crews) has hidden artistic talents.
The Goldbergs (ABC, 9 p.m.) - "Mini Murray" - After Barry (Troy Gentile) pleads for money to purchase a very expensive item, Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) says he must earn the money himself so Murray (Jeff Garlin) suggests he go to work at the Ottoman Empire furniture store with him. Barry soon learns being a salesman is very different than what he expected. Meanwhile, Adam (Sean Giambrone) and Pops (George Segal) attend an R-rated movie without telling anyone and they struggle to keep it secret from Beverly.
Supernatural (The CW, 9 p.m.) - "I Think I'm Gonna Like It Here" - Dean (Jensen Ackles) is frantic after Sam (Jared Padalecki) collapses and the doctor tells Dean his brother won’t make it. Desperate, Dean sends out an all points bulletin via prayer to every angel in the area, asking them to help his brother. In exchange, Dean will owe that angel a favor. Numerous angry angels race to find and kill Dean, but one, Ezekiel (guest star Tahmoh Penikett), gets to him first. Meanwhile, Sam fights for his life and must face some familiar demons to do so. Castiel (Misha Collins) struggles to survive without powers.
Trophy Wife (ABC, 9:30 p.m.) - "The Social Network" - When Hillary (Bailee Madison) is grounded after being caught lying in order to hang out with a boy, Diane (Marcia Gay Harden) and Pete (Bradley Whitford) decide they must snoop in her room and on her Facebook page to find out more about the young man, while Kate (Malin Akerman) tries a different tactic-- to be Hillary’s friend. Meanwhile, Albert (Albert Tsai) gets a little too invested in Jackie’s (Michaela Watkins) latest career venture.
The Mindy Project (FOX, 9:30 p.m.) - "Magic Morgan" - Morgan (Ike Barinholtz) claims that anyone who sleeps with him will fall magically in love-- with someone else-- after the encounter, so the newly single Mindy (Mindy Kaling) strongly considers it. Backing out at the last minute proves more problematic, though, because Morgan decides to sue her for sexual harassment.
