For Monday, October 7 2013 LA TV Insider Examiner recommends:
How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8 p.m.) - "The Broken Code" - While Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) works through his anger at Ted (Josh Radnor) after finding out he still has feelings for Robin (Cobie Smulders), Marshall (Jason Segel) Skypes in to act as a judge and help settle their dispute. Meanwhile, Lily (Alyson Hannigan) realizes she is Robin’s only girlfriend.
Hart of Dixie (The CW, 8 p.m.) - "Who Says You Can't Go Home?" - On the third season premiere, after spending the summer in New York City, Zoe (Rachel Bilson) is ready to make her move more permanent, but first she must return to BlueBell for one last thing. Upon her return Zoe, discovers that no one in town is very happy to see her, except for Lavon (Cress Williams). Desperate for Brick (Tim Matheson) to give her a good reference, she agrees to help him track down George (Scott Porter) and get him to resurrect the Founders Day parade that has been canceled. Needing to find George quickly, Zoe enlists Lemon’s (Jaime King) help but accidentally discovers Lemon is hiding a dirty little secret. Meanwhile, Lemon also devises a plan to help Wade (Wilson Bethel) save face in front of Zoe.
Beauty & the Beast (The CW, 9 p.m.) - "Who Am I?" - On the second season premiere, three months after Vincent Keller (Jay Ryan) was abducted by Muirfield, Detective Catherine Chandler (Kristin Kreuk), is reunited with him-- but not in the way she planned. He’s changed: his scar has disappeared, his memory has been wiped clean and he returns as a supercharged beast on a mysterious mission. Catherine needs to unravel the reasons behind Vincent’s change if she has any hopes of recovering their epic love, while also trying to solve the secrets that swirl around her own life.
Castle (ABC, 10 p.m.) - "Need To Know" - With Beckett (Stana Katic) still in D.C., Castle and the boys investigate the murder of former child star Charlie Reynolds, who rose to fame playing the lovable nerd on an early 90s High School sitcom. But the case takes a turn for the strange when Agents Beckett and McCord (Lisa Edelstein) arrive from Washington to take over the investigation, creating competitive tension in the precinct. But why would a washed-up actor's death warrant Federal scrutiny? Whatever the reason, Beckett and McCord aren't telling. Meanwhile, Castle (Nathan Fillion) has to contend with a new face at the 12th, NYPD Detective Frank "Sully" Sullivan (Joshua Bitton).
Hostages (CBS, 10 p.m.) - "Power of Persuasion" - Duncan (Dylan McDermott) threatens Ellen (Toni Collette) that she must convince the President to keep her on as his surgeon after he decides to go with another doctor, or there will be consequences. Also, Ellen meets Duncan’s daughter and gains insight into his life.
