For Wednesday, October 23 2013 LA TV Insider Examiner recommends:
Arrow (The CW, 8 p.m.) - "Broken Dolls" - Lance (Paul Blackthorne) learns a criminal named Barton Mathis (guest star Michael Eklund), whom he put away years ago, broke out of prison during the quake and is back to torturing and murdering women. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) offers herself as bait so Arrow (Stephen Amell), Diggle (David Ramsey) and Lance can catch this villain, but the plan goes awry. Furious, Mathis kidnaps Laurel (Katie Cassidy) in retaliation and plans to murder her while Lance watches. Meanwhile, Thea (Willa Holland) and Oliver are stunned when District Attorney Adam Donner (guest star Dylan Bruce) seeks the death penalty for Moira (Susanna Thompson). Oliver asks Roy (Colton Haynes) to help him find the Canary (Caity Lotz).
Revolution (NBC, 8 p.m.) - "One Riot, One Ranger" - Aaron (Zak Orth) and Rachel (Elizabeth Mitchell) speculate on the extreme effects of Nano technology, while he also confides in Cynthia (Jessica Collins). Meanwhile a figure from Miles’s (Billy Burke) rugged past, Texas Ranger John Fry (Jim Beaver) reemerges. Fry could be Miles' chance to bring down the Patriots in a big way, however Fry will need convincing. Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos) has a surprise for Miles and her mother, while Secretary Allenford (Nicole Ari Parker) holds a secret important to Neville (Giancarlo Esposito).
The Tomorrow People (The CW, 9 p.m.) - "Girl, Interrupted" - Stephen (Robbie Amell) reluctantly attends a party with Astrid (Madeleine Mantock), but is startled when he hears that one of his classmates is in peril. Desperate to help, Stephen turns to John (Luke Mitchell) and Cara (Peyton List), but they make it clear that they do not help humans. Stephen secretly tries to enlist Cara’s help, which brings up her own feelings about her traumatic past. Meanwhile, John gives Stephen a mission to infiltrate Ultra’s main computer to help give them an advantage in finding new break-outs.
American Horror Story: Coven (FX, 10 p.m.) - "The Replacements" - Fiona (Jessica Lange) takes on an unlikely protege, while Zoe (Taissa Farmiga) tries to help Kyle (Evan Peters).
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (FXX, 10 p.m.) - "Flowers for Charlie" - When an experiment successfully multiplies Charlie's (Charlie Day) intellect and takes him away from the bar, the rest of the gang find themselves struggling to complete the menial 'Charlie Work' that has kept the bar running for so long.
