For Wednesday, October 16 2013 LA TV Insider Examiner recommends:
Toy Story of Terror (ABC, 8 p.m.) - What starts out as a fun road trip for the Toy Story gang takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the trip detours to a roadside motel. After one of the toys goes missing, the others find themselves caught up in a mysterious sequence of events that must be solved before they all suffer the same fate.
Arrow (The CW, 8 p.m.) - "Identity" - Oliver (Stephen Amell) finds out the medicine that is being sent to Glades Memorial is being hijacked by thieves. Without an influx of supplies, the hospital will close. Roy (Colton Haynes) attempts to stop the thieves, but he fails and is arrested by Officer Lance (Paul Blackthorne). Oliver gets into a heated battle with China White (guest star Kelly Hu) and her new partner, Ben Turner, AKA the Bronze Tiger (guest star Michael Jai White), over the supplies. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) makes plans to catch the Arrow, and Thea (Willa Holland) gives Roy an ultimatum.
Revolution (NBC, 8 p.m.) - "Patriot Games" - Monroe (David Lyons) and Charlie's (Tracy Spiridakos) dynamic begin to evolve. Meanwhile, wounds of Miles (Billy Burke) and Rachel (Elizabeth Mitchell) begin to heal, yet her curiosity and heightened awareness could be her undoing. Neville’s (Giancarlo Espositio) manipulation of Patriot power brokers makes Machiavelli look like a cherub and Aaron’s (Zak Orth) mind works overtime awake or asleep with mind-blowing effectiveness. Rachel and Miles begin planning a resistance to what they believe might be the Patriot occupation.
The Tomorrow People (The CW, 9 p.m.) - "In Too Deep" - When Ultra tries to probe Stephen’s (Robbie Amell) brain, he looks to his fellow Tomorrow People for help, but is rebuffed by an angry John (Luke Mitchell), leaving Cara (Peyton List) to go behind John’s back to help Stephen. Meanwhile, Ultra tracks down the identity of a new break-out, who has been using his powers to commit crimes. Stephen tracks down the new break-out, but is shocked when an Ultra swat team is called in. At a loss for what to do, Stephen calls on John, Cara and Russell (Aaron Yoo) for help, leaving them with a risk of also getting caught. Upon learning of Ultra’s evil motives, John tries to convince Stephen to spy on Ultra to help save other potential Tomorrow People, while still pursuing the answers he seeks about this father.
American Horror Story: Coven (FX, 10 p.m.) - "Boy Parts" - Fiona (Jessica Lange) helps Zoe (Taissa Farmiga) and Madison (Emma Roberts) deal with a tragedy while Delphine (Kathy Bates) struggles to adjust to modern life and Cordelia (Sarah Paulson) has to face some tough decisions about her family.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (FXX, 10 p.m.) - "The Gang Gets Quarantined" - When a severe flu outbreak sweeps Philadelphia the gang voluntarily quarantine themselves inside of Paddy's in an attempt to keep their singing voices pristine for an upcoming competition, although they have trouble adhering to the strict rules they've set for themselves.
