For Thursday, October 10 2013 LA TV Insider Examiner recommends:
Once Upon A Time in Wonderland (ABC, 8 p.m.) - "Down the Rabbit Hole" - Alice (Sophie Lowe) returns home to her father telling her that everyone thought she was dead. Her imaginative stories about a talking White Rabbit (John Lithgow) and a mystical place called Wonderland end up getting her admitted into an asylum where Dr. Lydgate convinces her to have a procedure that will allow her to forget her pain. Right before the operation is set to take place she is rescued by the Knave of Hearts (Michael Socha) who takes her to the rabbit who informs her that her true love Cyrus (Peter Gadiot) is still alive. As the trio then jumps into the portal returning to Wonderland, Alice sets out on a quest to find him but the villainous Jafar (Naveen Andrews) and the Red Queen (Emma Rigby) have other plans for her.
The Vampire Diaries (The CW, 8 p.m.) - "True Lies" - Without telling Elena (Nina Dobrev) that Stefan (Paul Wesley) is missing, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) turns to Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre) for help finding his brother. Elena and Caroline (Candice Accola) try to find out who is covering up a campus murder, and a fellow Whitmore student named Jesse (guest star Kendrick Sampson) gives Elena some intriguing information about Professor Wes Maxfield (guest star Rick Cosnett). While Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) struggles to return to his old life, he continues to be the only person who can see and talk to Bonnie (Kat Graham), but he can’t convince her that it’s time to let the others know that she sacrificed her own life for his. After learning that Silas is searching for Katherine, Damon asks Matt (Zach Roerig) and Jeremy to keep her out of sight, but the situation quickly spirals out of control. Finally, Nadia (guest star Olga Fonda) uses violence to make a point about her own agenda.
Parks and Recreation (NBC, 8 p.m.) - "Doppelgangers" - Leslie (Amy Poehler) pairs up the Pawnee Parks employees with their Eagleton counterparts. Meanwhile Ben (Adam Scott) and Chris (Rob Lowe) reunite for an accounting project, and Ann (Rashida Jones) reveals her plans for the future.
The Michael J. Fox Show (NBC, 9:30 p.m.) - "Hobbies" - When Mike (Michael J. Fox) and Annie (Betsy Brandt) learn that Graham's (Jack Gore) after school program has been cancelled, the two compete over finding a new activity for him to enjoy. Meanwhile, at work, Mike is reunited with his nemesis, Susan Rodriguez-Jones (guest star Anne Heche), when Harris (Wendell Pierce) brings her on as the new anchor at NBC4. Back at home, Leigh (Katie Finneran) and Ian (Conor Romero) accidentally engage in a Twitter war with a girl at Eve's (Juliette Goglia) school.
Scandal (ABC, 10 p.m.) - "Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner" - Through flashbacks we learn more about Olivia’s estranged relationship with her father. Meanwhile, both the White House and Pope & Associates are still in the middle of cleaning up the very big and very public mess they created.
Parenthood (NBC, 10 p.m.) - "Nipple Confusion" - Crosby (Dax Shepard) and Jasmine (Joy Bryant) find parenthood the second time around to be twice as tough, while Kristina’s (Monica Potter) campaign with the ever-presence of Heather (Jurnee Smollett) creates a new dynamic with Adam . Meanwhile additional pressures push Joel (Sam Jaeger) and Julia (Erika Christensen) in potentially problematic directions and Sarah (Lauren Graham) seeks help and comfort from Hank (Ray Romano). And Zeek (Craig T. Nelson) tries to steer Camille (Bonnie Bedelia) to his way of thinking about what to do with the storied Braverman house.
