Oceanside is where it’s at this weekend. At least for those looking for fun, food, music and purpose -- an opportunity to give a cup of cold water to those in need.
Two fun-focused, Christ-centered events will take place on Saturday and Sunday afternoons: one at the Oceanside Ampitheater, the other at Cafecito on The Strand.
On Saturday August 7th from 11am – 6pm at the Oceanside Amphitheater (near the Pier), FBI (Firm Believers in Christ) presents their third annual outreach.
The outreach will include live music, a children’s treasure hunt on the beach, food giveaways, cash giveaways, a host of local ministry booths (including Orphans First and C28), FBI Boot Camp Training (a great opportunity for those who’d like to learn to use the Evange-Cube and learn to share their faith) . . . and much more.
Some 50 local churches will participate in this event and 10, 000 – 20, 000 are expected to attend. Various booths will provide free literature, or sell a variety of goods and merchandize – all centered in honoring the values of the Gospel.
But the fun doesn’t end there. On Sunday, another special event will take place at the Cafecito at the Strand in Oceanside (200 North the Strand). Between 2:00pm - 6:00pm
This event, “Soirée on the Strand,” highlights the cause of justice, poverty and homelessness. Several organizations—including: Orphans First, World Vision, Bread-of-Life, Holy Honey—will have booths to create awareness and sell special goods to raise funds. Food and music – including a rock band and a reggae band – will make this an afternoon to be remembered.
FBI was founded by Art Montgomery, a San Diego resident and the “Soirée on the Strand” was an initiative of a few San Diegans passionate about the cause of justice.
