LOST’s Oceanic Air is about to spoil that perfect safety record they’ve been promoting on billboards all over town. Marc Cherry, creator, writer and producer of ABC’s Desperate Housewives, confirms that a plane is going to come crashing down on DH’s Wisteria Lane this season ... and it may have the Oceanic logo on it.
“It’s going to be my cliffhanger for the first half of the season,” Cherry told The Ausiello Files. Likely airing during November sweeps, the crash will “affect everyone’s lives.”
In an effort to capitalize on the positive feedback from the ‘ABC House’ promos, the network is looking for more clever crossovers between its shows. Check out the last time LOST and Desperate Housewives crossed paths:
Don’t expect a Jack and Susan reunion, however. If the DH deal is inked, the Oceanic sighting is slated to be just another Easter Egg for LOST fans to salivate over.
DH is apparently only the latest crossover for LOST’s troubled airline; in addition to the recent premier of Flash Forward (ABC), references to Oceanic Airlines -- and, in some cases, even Flight 815 -- have cropped up in episodes of Chuck (NBC), Pushing Daisies (ABC), and Fringe (FOX). And here’s something LOST followers will want to go over with a fine tooth comb: although a fictional entity, Oceanic Air has quite a history in the movie and television industry.
