Tuesday marked the official opening of Ocean Spray's facility in Breingsville, which is located at Boulder Drive and Schantz Road (right off Route 100) in Upper Macungie Township.

The 300,000 square foot bottling plant is expected to be in full production swing by the summer, employing over 180 people, while shipping 30 million items per year and represents a $100 million investment for the juice and dried fruit manufacturer.

The company, which is a grower-owned cooperative, will uses its newest production plant to bottle the various Ocean Spray juices in 10 ounce to gallon sized containers, while also serving as a packaging plant for Nestle Waters; which also has two nearby locations.

The facility, which is Ocean Spray's first foray into the Lehigh Valley, joins the growing family of food & beverage manufacturers that have warehouses, production plants, or distribution centers in the region.
