While visiting Ocean City, NJ, patrons often traverse the Ninth Street bridge for fine dining at three well known establishments.
Two are situated right off of the bridge in Somers Point, The Crab Trap, and Smith's Marina (aka Smitty's Clam Bar and The Breakfast Shop). The other will be found three towns away along Shore Road, Ventura's.
These restaurants have served consistently good to great dining throughout the years. None of them take reservations, but all are most assuredly packed with people waiting to go inside, moderately priced, and serve savory memorable foods.

The number one best selling item for thirty years is the Crab Trap Deluxe Deviled Crab Cakes. The menus are incorporated onto the official website.

Ventura's presents a family restaurant and a sportsman bar.
The Signature Offshore Platter includes baby back ribs, chicken breast, barbecue sauce, potato wedges, and brown sugar oven-baked beans served with soup/salad, and pizza bread. For salad lovers try the Ensalada Portifino. The menu is found on the website.

Smitty's is a casual restaurant right on the bay with the atmosphere of the old seashore. Closed at this time, Smitty's reopens Memorial Day weekend and closes a week or two following Labor Day.
Specials are posted on the board inside the door. Favorites include baked Seafoods and New England Clam Chowder.
Hours: In season only (Noon-9pm) (Fri-Sat Noon-10pm) These hours are not absolute at this time.
The Breakfast Shop is situated in the rear of the building. Open year round, the little breakfast nook is already 'packing them in'. Hours for The Breakfast Shop (6am-Noon); phone 609-601-2100.

the clam bar (smitty's) usually opens Mothers Day weekend serving dinner seven nights a week and closes around two weeks after labor day. Lunches run weekends starting memorial day weekend and full time when the area schools let out. Lunches end labor day.
