The Department of Natural Resources is holding an Ocean Acidification Task Force Meeting at the Tawes State Office Building in Annapolis. The meeting will be held on Aug 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. Attendees will study the best available science regarding ocean acidification and its potential effects on State waters and State fisheries. Retrofit Baltimore and the Columbia Association are holding the Columbia Energy Efficiency Upgrade Co-op Meeting at Amherst House in Columbia on Aug 7. It will run 8 - 9 p.m. Attendees will learn how to improve their home's energy efficiency and keep it cooler during the summer. They will also learn about available contractors and rebates. The Patterson Park Audubon Center is offering an urban bird watching walk on Aug 8. It will run 8 - 9:30 a.m. 200 bird species have visited the park and this is a good time to check out the summer residents and early fall migrants.
