Occupy Wall Street two month anniversary, protests planned everywhere

On Thursday November 17, 2011 the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement, which has now turned into a nationwide and worldwide movement, will be observing its two month anniversary.

In the United States, protests are now planned for hundreds of cities.

In cities such as Oakland, CA, New York, NY, and elsewhere, our nation has seen this peaceful movement met with violence by various law enforcement agencies (videos on left). Just two nights ago, in New York were the Occupy Wall Street movement first began; the City of New York coordinated a police action which took place in the middle of the night, to clear out Zuccotti Park, the longtime Occupy Wall Street encampment in New York. Their belongings, their tents, their makeshift kitchen and library were all hauled away in garbage trucks. While OWS vowed to come back, and they did, they are not being allowed to set up tents, at least for the moment.

The media for the most part have ignored this movement for what they say, is not having a clear message, but the media has been quick to highlight the police violence when they break out the pepper spray, batons, and rubber bullets, followed by mass arrests.

Right wing media such as Fox “News” have been calling those at OWS rallies, thugs, drug addicts, scum, and other words meant to marginalize and demonize the movement that speaks out against corporate greed, and a government rife with corruption.

Here in Las Vegas, a protest march is planned at the Lloyd George Federal Building, located at 333 Las Vegas Blvd South from 7:00am to 10:00am. The Federal Building houses the offices of Majority Leader Harry Reid and the other national legislators.
