Occupy Wall Street, threat or menace?

Let us look at the OWS movement a moment, and study exactly what's going on here.  Are they a threat to ... anything, really?

True, they have already attacked the police at least once thus far.

However, the majority of the problems seem to be theft amongst their own members.

They do, technically constitute a threat by their existence in Zuccotti park.  How?  They make a tempting target to theives.  Also, they provide a great place for theives to hide after they, for example, lift your wallet on your daily commute.

However, they themselves are not a direct threat ... for the moment.

Douglas Schoen, Democratic pollster, has determined several things about the Occupy Wall Street Movement.

For one, most of them are umployed: 85% of them have jobs.  And while most are for civil disobedience, only 43% are pro-violence.

Yes, "only 43%," you read that correctly.  When they average only around 300 members on any given day, that means that anyone interested in violence will spend most of their time tripping over the non-violent ones.

However, should the numbers go to over 60%, and 3,000 people, then there may be cause for alarm.

But, for right now, they are, in the words of Douglas Adams, mostly harmless.

Be safe.

Update: Maybe we should say they WERE mostly harmless.
