Brandeis University’s 7th Annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial: “Occupying the Dream!” will take place on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 6:30PM in Levin Ballroom.
This epic event will feature Brandeis’ own awe-inspiring jazz juggernaut Louise Grasmere, melodic duet and sensational songbirds Darlene Zephyrine ’12 & Erin Lue-Hing ’12, celebrated poet-extraordinaire Usman Hameedi ’12, Scholar-Poet Leah Staffin '15, Scholar-Saxaphonist David Wheaton '15 and the return of Spoken-Word powerhouse Kayo-as accompanied by poet “Proverbs.”
Brandeis favorites "Tauc and Chris Slaughter," will contribute theire vocal gifts of song and verse to this event as well.
SPECIAL PERFORMANCE BY BRANDEIS' OWN KAOS KIDS!
The spirit and human embodiment of Dr. King will be further channeled through the delivery of one of Dr. King’s great speeches by Jermaine Hamilton ’13. We will also be spiritually moved by the voices of the Deland Senatus UNITY Mass Choir.
Our keynote address will be delivered by history/"herstory" making woman warrior and award winning television journalist Reverend Liz Walker.
The event is free and seating will be available at 6:00PM.
The program will begin at 6:30PM. Please arrive early, as seats fill quickly.
