More than 1000 protesters came out to support high school rape victims in the small Ohio town of 18,000 residents against a justice system they believes is protecting a highschool football team. Steubenville residents told story after story of being raped by different members of the football team and no action being taken by police. Although 2 boys have been charged after a video of them carrying a girl passed out around a party surfaced, many town residents would like to see the rest of the boys involved charged. Online activist group Anonymous leaked a video tape of football players bragging about the rape and other online commentary by other accused boys. Anonymous believes the 12 minute long tape should be enough to have others charged. During the protest, Sheriff Fred Abdalla told protestors no more suspects would be charged.
A website has been created by Steubenville's police department as a measure to disprove the towns believes of the football team running the city. The trials of the charged players will soon be heard in juvenile court. Stay tuned! Watch news video of incident here. http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=50138302n
