Occupy DC warns CPAC speakers: You will be 'physically assaulted'

The poster children of the Age of Obama, the swarming, lice-covered, destructive rioters who comprise the so-called Occupy movement, seem ever more intent on ignoring Democrat politicians who, way back in 2011, called for civil discourse.

Occupy DC – backed by the AFL-CIO and Service Employees International Union (SEIU), and ostensibly by Barack Obama’s White House – is planning disruptive demonstrations, even physical confrontation, to intimidate thousands of Americans headed to a Washington conference this week.

Occupy’s blistering rhetoric is specific in its threats and identities of its targets. Although we do not expect these pro-union, pro-entitlement domestic terrorists to attract the attention of the Department of Homeland Security, it is not alarmist to assume that the DHS threat level assigned to the 2012 Conservative Political Action Conference probably would be “imminent”.

CPAC 2012, organized by the American Conservative Union, opens Thursday and concludes Saturday evening in a sprawling Washington hotel. Last year, it attracted more than 11,000 registrants.

Investigative reporter Lachlan Markay on Tuesday morning reported the content of an email warning sent to The Heritage Foundation in Washington. (Markay is on the staff of the Heritage Center for Media and Public Policy, and posts to the Heritage blog, Scribe).

The protesters suggested pulling fire alarms in the hotel where the conference will take place, screaming “fire” during conference activities, “glitter-bombing” participants, cutting electrical power, and barricading entrances to the hotel, according to the source, who requested anonymity.

“Speakers will be physically assaulted, not just verbally confronted,” the source told Scribe in an email.

Markay also reports that the email contains a pledge by two members of the New Black Panthers to provoke arrest by law enforcement and “make it count”. The anonymous source brashly reminds the recipient that, unlike Mitt Romney, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has not been assigned Secret Service protection. Both Romney and Gingrich are scheduled to speak at CPAC on Friday afternoon.

The vicious tone of the warnings is in contrast to the marching orders spelled out at the “official” Occupy DC web site, where protestors are advised to “create as much non-violent resistance as possible, and make this a conference the attendees will never forget.”

Occupy DC describes CPAC as “a gathering of bigots” committed to a “racist, sexist, patriarchal, and exploitive agenda.”

Separately, a union web site details plans to “disrupt and lay siege” to the conference. LaborUnionReport.com reports two demonstrations are scheduled Friday afternoon.

There is also a Facebook page for Occupy CPAC (in DC), posted by Change to Win staffer, Trina Tocco. It is important to note that Change to Win is the SEIU-led federation that broke away from the AFL-CIO in 2005—which means both union federations are involved in planning the attacks on CPAC.

The inevitable all-out war on the American conservative by the radicalized Occupy youth forces has been gathering momentum since last November. During a smaller conservative conference hosted by Americans for Prosperity inside the D.C. Convention Center, Occupy mobs took over the streets outside and managed to slip a few of their militants into the hall during an evening banquet. Several arrests ensued. An elderly woman was shoved to the pavement during one of the encounters.

Occupy DC's tent city just last week was at long last disbanded by a newly empowered U.S. Park Police, but not before trampling the lush grass in Washington’s McPherson Square into mud. In conrast to crackdowns in many other cities, Occupy DC’s filthy encampment was tolerated for months by authorities (likely under orders to stand down by the Obama White House).

If the occupiers are truly intent on imposing mayhem on CPAC this year, they will do so in the face of more than 10,000 fiercely patriotic Americans who have traveled to Washington from across the nation. CPAC attracts thousands of college students, as well as Tea Party groups, retired couples, military veterans, business owners, political bloggers and state and county elected officials.

No one should be suprised if a majority of CPAC attendees embrace the words of American hero and revolutionary Capt. John Parker, who advised, “Don’t fire unless fired upon. But if they want a war let it begin here.”
