Occupy Colorado Springs protests in support of Occupy Together

Occupy Colorado Springs kicked off at noon on October 1st in Acacia Park with a variety of people from all walks of life united in solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street protests in New York City and all of the other Occupy Together protests worldwide. Cars honked their horns every minute as the protesters chanted phrases such as “This is what democracy looks like” and “They got bailed out, we got sold out”.

Protesters in the Springs stood strong for hours even in the midst of reports that on the same day hundreds of people were arrested in Brooklyn by NYPD. The NYPD has issued statements that only protesters blocking traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge were arrested, but protesters in the Springs and across the world following #OccupyTogether and #GlobalRevolution twitter feeds read first-hand reports from Wall Street protesters that the NYPD had corralled them in with orange temporary fencing and led them all to a mass arrest.
