Looking for a way to end February off on the right foot? Check out the upcoming OC Hope and Harmony 5k race taking place on Saturday, February 27th at 8:00 am. The race will be held at the University of California, Irvine and will be taking place rain or shine. This is the first year for the event, hosted by Beckstrand Cancer Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to improving and enhancing quality of life for cancer patients and their families.
All proceeds of the Hope and Harmony Run/Walk will benefit patients whose diagnosis have resulted in financial burden. You can learn more about Beckstrand Cancer Foundation by visiting their website. Some of the sponsors for the race include Pop Chips, Rubios, A Snail's Pace running club and the presenting sponsor of the event is O'Connell Landscape Maintenance.
There is a team option for the race or participants can run as individuals. The race will be electronically timed and winners will be announced after the race. For the 5k, the entry fee is $35 per person and for the 1 mile kids fun run the entry fee is $25 per child. There will be a family-friendly runners' village, a race expo and all participants will receive at-shirt and goody bag. Parking for the race is located in the two UC Irvine parking structures at Campus and West Peltason for $8.
