Popcorn is one of America’s great national pastimes. It is enjoyed by millions of people, whether its done sitting at home on the couch or in the movie theater, noshing away at a large bucket with butter piled on. There is also the walk on the boardwalk with caramel corn or combining a visit to a carnival with kettle corn. These are all familiar flavors and popcorn experiences. However, a new popcorn-centric shop in the Brandywine Valley has taken everyone’s favorite snack by storm and added to the list of common flavors, and then some.
Popcorn Obsession, located in Chadds Ford, Pa., boasts over 70 different flavors of popcorn. That’s right, 70 different flavors. They have the traditional flavors that you know and love (such as butter, caramel and kettle) but they also feature such unique flavors as birthday cake, jalapeno ranch, pizza and watermelon among a plethora of others.
You can purchase the popcorn in many different size varieties, from a mini bag all the way up to extra large. The store also offers many different tin sizes and they also provide party and corporate event ideas. Besides their colossal variety of popcorn, Popcorn Obsession also has an exceptional stash of nostalgic candies and other such options in their store. If you can’t make it to Chadds Ford but still want to enjoy their popcorn, they will ship to anywhere in the United States.
This store is the only one of its kind in the Brandywine Valley and is a family-owned and operated business. This is the first of what the owners, Ben and Cindy Fox, hope will be several area shops. The store is located in the Painters Crossing shopping center in Chadds Ford, about 6 miles south of West Chester and 30 miles southwest of Philadelphia. If you are a popcorn maniac, or even if you aren’t, this is a destination shop worth visiting over and over again to try every flavor.
