Two California witnesses watched two unusual looking red lights in the sky on May 26, 2011, while three objects were observed to "break off and drop towards the ground in three different directions" from one of them, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The two witnesses were on ambulance duty in a 24-hour shift and back at their station when one of them noticed the first red light in the sky.
"I noted to my partner to take a look," the reporting witness stated. "He exited the vehicle and noticed the same star. We talked about it for a second and thought it to be Mars, but neither of us are very adept in astronomy and were unsure."
Then a second "star" appeared.
"This star was fairly dim compared to the red star and we noticed that it was moving towards the red star. As we watched, the smaller object moved north towards the red star, then descended underneath. It passed the red star completely traveling northward, then ascended upwards as if it was circling the red star. At this point the smaller star just faded from view."
Then three objects appeared to break away from the original light and move toward the ground.
"As we watched the red star had three pieces break off and drop towards the ground in three different directions and the main body of the red star faded from view. This event lasted approximately 3-5 minutes."
No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the MUFON report, which was filed on May 26, 2011. No images or videos were included with the report.
