WALLIE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!
Wow, is this dachshund FAT! Sweet Wallie, a black-and-rescue doxie, currently tops the scales at 28 lbs., almost twice her ideal body weight. Her former owner must have loved her a little too much.

Age: 8 years
Color: Black & tan
Coat: Smooth
Sex: Female/spayed
Size: Fat tweenie – 28 lbs.
Unfortunately, Wallie's owner passed away. The family, instead of finding a home for grandma's beloved dachshund, dumped her at the Orange County Shelter, where she languished for almost two weeks.
Wallie is now on a low-fat diet and regular exercise program. She has already lost two pounds, with ten more to go.
She's becoming more energetic as the pounds come off. Somewhere under all that extra weight is a sleek and playful doxie. We just have to release her from her bondage.
An extremely affectionate girl, Wallie enjoys cuddling with her person, taking leisurely walks and basking in the sunshine. She would be the perfect companion for retirees who enjoy short morning and evening walks and long afternoons cuddling on the sofa.
Wallie is safe with visiting grandchildren and would only need minimal supervision if the children were under five years old.
Housetrained and dog-door savvy, Wallie is very healthy, with current vaccinations and a recent dental cleaning.

That is a seriously obese dog and I'm so glad to see she's getting good care. It's so important to follow a sensible weight loss plan with pets; lose too fast and they can get sick!
