Obamacare once again rears its ugly head in New Hampshire thanks to the Senate

Yesterday the Senate released SB 413 – a bill they are calling the “New Hampshire health protection program.” SB 413 is nothing but Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion. They can try and disguise this massive federal intrusion into the state of New Hampshire but the facts are clear: SB 413 is Obamacare; they are still lying that they will end it when the federal funds start decreasing and they are pulling a Nancy Pelosi “we have to pass the bill to see if the Obama Administration will give us waivers to set up Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion how we want.”

The first mistake the Senate is making, which includes Republicans Morse, Bradley and Odell, is to even consider forcing Obamacare onto Granite Staters when the majority of people living in the state have continuously shown they disapprove of the program. Maybe that’s one of the reasons they decided to change the name. It is not going to go over well with voters when they discover the truth. It’s bad enough Senator Shaheen and Representative Shea-Porter ignored the majority of their constituents and pushed Obamacare onto the state but now state legislators are pulling the same scam.

The second mistake the Senate is making is believing they can get waivers from the Obama Administration to pull off the ridiculous ‘private option’ they are touting. They have to pass Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion in order to even apply for the waivers. The bill claim’s if they are not granted the waivers the program will not be put into place – this is a lie. If they pass Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion, the state will be forced to live with it forever. It is a huge federal program that will never be removed.

That’s where the third mistake and biggest whopper of a lie comes into play – Senators supporting this claim that once the federal funding decreases (which begins in 2017), that the program will come to an end. Right. Have you ever met a legislator who voted to remove any ‘entitlement’ program? This is a huge issue for the state of New Hampshire because this is going to leave the taxpayers with multiple millions of dollars due. Since the state barely balances the budget there will indeed be either an income and/or sales tax imposed.

As previously written, Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion is far worse than you think. There are potentially 100,000 people (able-bodied people who work) in New Hampshire who could be eligible for this program. This could actually hurt hospitals and healthcare providers; Medicaid is the worst health care program in the country and again the taxpayers will be on the hook for millions of dollars because Senators are outright lying when they say this program will end. The Senate failed to pass Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion last year. It’s not clear why any Senator would be pushing this in the Granite State this year.
