Andy Mangione, a resident of Louisville, Kentucky recently got an eye opening surprise in the mail. Upon receiving an envelope from his insurance company labeled as urgent, he opened it to find that the insurance bill for his two children will triple by the year 2014. According to his insurance company, the increase is due to necessary compliance with new health reform laws.
Even though the health condition of his family has not changed, having two healthy children while he and his wife are also in good health, the costs will indiscriminately increase. ACA compliance is believed to be a major contributor to this price jump as well as multiple other causes.
This price jump will not stop with the Mangione family and it can be assured that more cases like this will show up quite soon. Tripling the premiums of health insurance can result in a number of new problems with healthcare. Instead of doing what ObamaCare was intended to do, it is often making things worse.
If we allow for massive price jumps in insurance costs for families whose health has not changed, it can only be imagined how those whose health does change may experience.
