I can see the headlines being written across the country in many conservative-leaning news and commentary publications, that the epic failure of the roll out of the ObamaCare insurance exchanges proves the incompetence of the Obama Regime. The regime can't do anything right, not even manage these ObamaCare exchanges. Even the state exchanges are much better run than the federal one, so it proves the regime is incompetent and run by a president who had little qualification to be president.
Wrong, aside from the last part of Obama's qualifications to be president. The failure of ObamaCare is not due to incompetence of this regime. The Regime is quite competent and knew exactly what it was doing when it, and its allies, designed ObamaCare. This health care scheme was designed to fail. That's right, it was designed to fail, and even a few members of Congress from the far left, who voted for it, understood this from the beginning. A few of them said they knew that ObamaCare was designed to be a Trojan horse to lead us into socialist single-payer health care.
This doesn't prove incompetence of the Obama Regime, it's proves the sheer ideological bigotry of the Regime. They so strongly believe in socialism, they did EVERYTHING they could to get a coalition of liberals and socialists and more pragmatic liberals in Congress and the Senate to pass an ObamaCare scheme that would lead us to single-payer socialist health care. The Regime could have easily pursued a moderate health care reform bill that addressed covering the uninsured, covering those with pre-existing conditions and addressing the other issues that were claimed to be the reasons we needed to reform the health care system. Such a moderate scheme might well have worked and accomplished public approval. But that would be failure for the ideological hard left, because they would have entirely failed to take advantage of the political opportunity to engineer a complete government takeover of the health care sector if they simply passed a moderate bill to address on the specific issues that were the reasons to reforming health care.
They knew this scheme couldn't work. They knew it would cost hundreds of billions more than promised. They knew that once this went into effect, the millions of remaining middle class, who were promised lower insurance premiums, would find their premium sky-rocketing because they would find out they are the ones paying for the coverage for the poor and the coverage for those with pre-existing conditions. Most citizens would find out, and the Regime knew this, that they were sold a bill of goods by the Regime on ObamaCare.
The Regime hopes that, when the public gets outraged at the failure of ObamaCare, that it will prove that “private sector health care” as they will call this mess, just can't work, and the only way to truly reform it and make it work for everyone is single-payer socialist health care. They hope it will fail so miserably, and cause so much pain, that they and media will be able to create (manufacture, in an “AstroTurf” way) a groundswell of public demand for single-payer. In short, the failure of ObamaCare is by design.
But that design might backfire. If the public is well informed and doesn't fall for this ploy, they will put more pressure on Congress to repeal ObamaCare and replace it with a free market oriented reform plan that will work. We can only hope.
