Working people of the United States watch out. Obamacare is almost here.
From all that has been presented, I can see one advantage for many people. Under Obamacare, no one can be denied insurance for a pre-existing condition.
But much of Obamacare, which goes into effect on October 1 will not really helping working people who are struggling to find full time jobs with full benefits. The biggest problem with Obamacare is that it encourages employers to only hire people on a part-time basis. Employers who offer less than 30 hours a week don't have to pay for that employee's health insurance. And this will make it very tough for young people seeking a full-time job. Many companies can get by with large part-time workforces. Also, companies with fewer than 50 employees don't have to offer their personnel health insurance. This will encourage many employers to contract out more work rather than hiring more people. It will be interesting to see how Obamacare plays out in the next year.
