Speaking before the Congressional Hispanic Caucus during the weekend, President Barack Obama did not skip a beat when the Presidential Teleprompter edited the Declaration of Independence on the fly during his remarks.
As he spoke of the enduring strength of American unity, Obama referenced an oft repeated pillar of the Declaration: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed with certain unalienable Rights ..."
The Founders, of course, were abundantly clear as to who endows these Rights, but that phrase was dropped from the Obama speech: "... That they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights ..."
The Drudge Report has posted the two-minute video clip, and Rush Limbaugh examined the omission at the top of his radio program today. Only two scenarios are plausible. That Obama deliberately skipped over the phrase, "by their creator", as it rolled by on the teleprompter, or that it was consciously dropped by the speechwriter (who has been groomed to minimize Obama references to higher authorities).
The following day, according to wire service reports, Obama and family made a rare appearance for a morning service at St. John's Episcopal Church, which is within walking distance of the White House.
Apparently, Obama was looking for the Creator he overlooked the night before.

the founders were also abundantly clear that they spoke only for white male landowners, so don't go there with the "Creator" stuff...according to the founders, females and non-whites were NOT endowed by the Creator these rights....do you still want to argue accuracy with that embaressment attached to the debate? In fact, most of those founders wouldn't be welcoming the rights of Obama.

I think that anyone who thinks the world would be a better place if this were still true needs serious help! Women and minorities have proven their rightful place in our society and if you are a small frightened white male then get out of our way...we real have work to do - as doctors, lawyers, etc.. So enjoy your blue collar jobs while we leave you in the dust!
At the time, the general populous held the opinion that non-whites were savages--and let's face it, you wouldn't want to give voting rights to people you feel are not informed, have no frame of reference for governance, really would not give a damn about what's going on with the revolution, that it's a white man's struggle, and could possibly threaten the structure of the system you're trying to create. What if when the slaves were freed, they organized a pilgrimage and headed west, set up their own colony for Africa? That's a possible result. Plus slaves were an economic commodity, like illegal immigrant labor today. Free slaves and scores of commonly wealthy people can no longer support the revolutionary war effort. John Adams tried very hard to persuade Thomas Jefferson to incorporate more assertive language that held black men to the same value as white men. They agreed on "self-evident" and Adams just had to accept it and pray that some day Americans will come to their senses about creation and find a way to live side by side with African Americans.

But that's totally besides the point -- the point the article makes is that Obama seems to have specifically edited the Declaration of Independence simply to fit his political agenda. Not once does the article make any claim that the founding fathers held any contemporary claims on sexual, racial or social equlity. Not once. Read it again.
it's not beside the point...the founding fathers edited the Declaration of Independence to fit THEIR AGENDA (white male and landowner, remember? THAT'S an agenda!!)..excuse me, but if you want to debate a small editing by one black man, then it opens the debate up to the HUGE editing by our white male founding fathers...don't bring it up unless you are ready to FULLY debate ANY editing at ANY time to fit an agenda, either liberal or racial or sexist.

I agree with Walrus. I also think that Obama is a pro at rewriting any part of the constitution on the fly - that is what he does best!
Obama is not a socialist. Canada is socialist, I'm not sure what the h*ll Obama is trying to do, but it is not for the good of the working classes.
