Obama speaks at Fort Hood memorial service

If you were one of the thousands who attended the services today at Fort Hood, Texas, you heard first-hand President Obama vowing that justice would be done in the attack that left 13 dead and 42 wounded.

The Fort Hood killings are ‘incomprehensible,’ Obama said as he told the families that “no words can fill the void that has been left.”

"Their life's work is our security and the freedom that we too often take for granted. Every evening that the sun sets on a tranquil town; every dawn that a flag is unfurled; every moment that an American enjoys life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness -- that is their legacy," the president said.

The president canceled his scheduled appearance Tuesday before the Genera Assembly of the Jewish Federations of North America in Washington to attend the memorial service for the victims.

It's just heartbreaking. It's more heartbreaking knowing that it could have been prevented ..

"The Fort Hood killings are ‘incomprehensible"

No, Mr. President they are not. You may not want to acknowledge it, but it is very explainable by knowing radical Islam, and how these acts are justified in their minds. And that is the point, that is what makes it "terrorism", the fact they feel justified and they will kill without regard men, women and children, and believing that will be rewarded by God for doing so.

It's horrible, violent and tragic, but it is not, and should not be incomprehensible, especially to the Commander in Chief who needs to fully grasp what the danger is that the country faces.

Funny how it is Political Correctness that had a hand in these events yet our President will not even call this tragedy what it is, an act of terrorism. God forbid we offend anyone, except for the families of those who died. I guess it's OK to offend them.

Mike and Sherri you are both spot on. What is tragic is in the name of political correctness we are sacrificing the lives of those we depend on for our freedom. Let's call it what it is... Terrorism.
