President Obama at joint session 9-9-09
President Obama owes the American people an apology for the "lies" he continues to spew on health care. Rush Limbaugh was right today when he said, "I'm going to tell you something. One of the things that really irritated me all morning and last night was listening to Republicans, even after [Congressman] Wilson has apologized, and I wish he had not."
How can conservatives and Republicans "condemn" Congressman Wilson's outburst when he merely echoed the same message conservative activists did at town halls meetings during the August recess? Last evening, I wrote about the President's "lies" regarding abortion during his attempt to sell health care to the American people with the deceptive tactics his party and administration have been using since the beginning of the propaganda-laced push for a public option. There is something equally repulsive in the now famous HR 3200 - I turn your attention to pages 993-1001.
Under HR 3200, "School-Based Health Clinics", run by the largest abortion provider in the United States and the world, Planned Parenthood, will be placed in US public schools. This means that US taxpayer dollars will be paying for Planned Parenthood clinics in your children's school. It gets even worse. In an attempt to vest more power into the hands of the federal government, the taxpayer funded Planned Parenthood clinics will report directly to the US Department of Health and Human Services with absolutely no accountability to the schools in which they would reside. Do you want HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, famous for her abortion rights advocacy, overseeing Planned Parenthood clinics in public schools?
I understand why Congressman Wilson shouted at President Obama and if I had the guts he did, I'd hope I would have done the same thing. Was it a distraction that hurt the fight against government run health care? We'll see. Was it the "right" thing to do? Probably not. But, do I like the fact that he stood up to the President just like thousands of Americans who stood up to their representatives during the August recess? You bet I did. Why? I was enraged when Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called President Bush a "loser" and when Democrats booed President Bush during his 2005 State of the Union address. President Obama is getting a taste of the tactics used by the DNC, Organizing for America, and ACORN. The gloves have come off and the fight is real. Conservatives can beat this regime at its own game and the President is sweating.
President Obama, you should apologize to the American people for the lies and deceptions you and your party continue to preach. Mr. President, tell the American people the truth - you want Planned Parenthood clinics in public schools and mandatory abortion coverage in "your" ideal health care plan.
