Obama's video past comes back to haunt him

During a White House interview conducted by Bill O'Reilley of Fox News on Feb. 2, 2014, Barack Obama found that videotape can be a rather inconvenient thing that more often than not, result in politicians able to nuance themselves out of a verbal jam.

Widely ignored by the vast majority of the American media, to include Fox News, Obama was queried as to his past pronouncement that he would fundamentally transform the United States of America (click here for video).

The pertinent section of the transcript as posted by Fox News:

O'REILLY: OK. I got a letter from Kathy LaMaster (ph), Fresno, California. I said I would read one letter from the folks, all right?

OBAMA: All right.

O'REILLY: "Mr. President, why do you feel it's necessary to fundamentally transform the nation that has afforded you so much opportunity and success?"

OBAMA: I don't think we have to fundamentally transform the nation...

O'REILLY: But those are your words.

Never really answering the question from California's agricultural powerhouse city of Fresno, nor ever pressing the matter home by O'Reilley, Obama effectively side-stepped ever answering the rather straightforward question.

Rather than using his remaining moments asking the Chief Executive of his contradiction and/or change of heart, O'Reilly chose to ask Obama of his opinion regarding the upcoming football game.

That was then, this is now ...

Prior to his inauguration in 2008, Obama clearly stated on October 30, 2008 before a wildly enthusiastic and partisan crowd that they were "five days away from fundamentally transforming America".
