Obama and Democrats have been screaming that the sky will fall if the mere 2.4% sequestration cuts are allowed to take place. Although the sequester was Obama's idea and he has done nothing to avoid it, he leads Americans to believe that "Armageddon" is going to occur and it's all thanks to Republicans. To your average low-information voter, this probably does seem scary because they believe the lies that are continually told by the White House. To anyone who has a clue and pays taxes, cutting only 2.4% of the over bloated, wasteful and outrageous budget of the federal government isn't even close to being enough.
Obama hypocrisy was loud and clear when he made the following statement in his weekly address today:
Businesses will suffer because customers will have less money to spend. The longer these cuts remain in place, the greater the damage.
Obama wasn't singing the same tune when his 2% payroll tax increase affected every working family in America - poor, working class and middle class workers were all directly hit by Obama's tax increase. It was truly a cut to each family's budget at a time when gas and food prices continue to rise and the cost of just about everything is on the rise. Even Obama's most ardent supporters were shocked by how much his tax increase was hurting them.
Obama also had the nerve to blame Republicans for the sequester when in fact it was his idea:
Here’s the thing: none of this is necessary. It’s happening because Republicans in Congress chose this outcome over closing a single wasteful tax loophole that helps reduce the deficit.
Obama has also neglected to mention that he has latitude with the sequestration cuts so that he could actually make wise choices and cut waste out of departments and programs. This is another fact that Democrats purposefully leave out when trying to blame Republicans for the sequester. Republicans also offered to give Obama even more leeway with the cuts but he wanted no part of that.
It's been quite clear for a very long time that facts are not something Obama or Democrats choose to spread. Unfortunately, too many Americans are ignorant enough to continually believe the hype thanks to the many media outlets that also refuse to report the facts. Obama's lies and hypocrisy over the sequestration cuts are glaring but will Americans ever learn the truth? Sequestration has happened and the sky didn't fall although there are definitely zombies roaming the country, they are known as Democrats.
