Obama made his first visit to San Diego today to raise funds for his campaign in lieu of the next election.
The fundraiser takes place in La Jolla Rancho Road, La Jolla, in the home of Mason and Elizabeth Phelps. Tickets cost anything from $ 250 upward (depending on whether the sponsor wants a pic with the prez or not).
But not everyone applauds Obama as seen by the protests. As well as the Tea Party movement, San Diego is also home to many churches and Christian groups who—based on their biblical perspective on policies—don’t take too fondly to the present commander-in-chief.
Policies and viewpoints are debatable, of course. But the Bible is staunch on certain issues. Honesty is one.
Some claim that Obama has acted disingenuously—from his shifting stance on same-sex marriage, and his chameleon religious adherence to his disregard of the constitution. (Others argue that he’s a politician; they all lie.)
Among those heralding their patriotic viewpoint is the San Diego Tea Party. Obama’s San Diego visit provides a platform for them to protest and state their claim: stop Obama now.
Whether you like TEA parties, or are a coffee drinker . . . whatever your viewpoint . . . Christians are called to stand up for what is right, and to pray for those in authority. It’s not too early to consider the 2012 election—and prayer is a good place to start.
