Obama's fake mustache fantasy was once squashed by Secret Service

President Barack Obama has a fantasy of putting on a fake mustache and breaking free of being noticed by everybody and their cousin, even if it's just for a short time. Obama is yearning to spend a little time as an unknown and sitting in a cafe' in Tel Aviv unnoticed is part of this mustache fantasy, according to Politico 44 on March 14, 2013.

The option of wandering the streets most anywhere in the world is gone once you've become the President of the U.S. and a fake mustache doesn't give Obama back that option to move around freely without his entourage of body guards. He claims he tried it once.

Other than Tel Aviv, the President wanted to walk through Central Park in NYC during a visit to that city a while back. He claims he tried on a fake mustache and asked the Secret Service folks assigned to him if the disguise works. They said it was not good enough for him to go unnoticed, so he didn't get a chance for a walk alone.

Obama told this story at a fundraiser in June, so wandering alone in a disguise is something he's been thinking about for a while.
