Obama’s dog: Bo Obama gets date invite to Doggie Dash

Obama’s dog, Bo Obama, has been asked out on his first date. A goldendoodle named Ramona has invited him to the Oregon Humane Society Doggie Dash on May 11. She’s even willing to marry him, reports Daily Mail on Thursday, March 21. This is an annual fund raising event in Portland, Oregon, to benefit animal shelters.

It all started with a dream – and with a few humans with creative minds. Ramona the two-year-old goldendoodle is rhapsodizing about the upcoming Doggie Dash bash and wishing she had a date. She so admires Bo Obama, President Obama’s dog. Could she invite him?
Of course she could. Ramona tries Twitter and Facebook. No luck. No reply. Then she manages to get the president’s phone number, with which to call Bo. Still, no luck. This all plays out, naturally, on a YouTube video.

“What? [Bo] doesn’t have a cell phone?” she asks. She already sees herself as Mrs. Bo, the First Dog-Lady. Obviously, Ramona thinks big.

Finally, she decides to try an old-fashioned method to contact Obama’s dog. She writes Bo a letter. The letter has it all: paw prints, pink hearts, cute mis-spellings. Ramona never was very good at spelling. The date invitation reads: “Dear Bo, Will u goz to Doggie Dash wit me?”

Then she thinks bigger. “Dear Bo Obama, You are cordially invited to serve as Grand Dog Marshal of the Oregon Humane Society 2013 Doggie Dash.” That ought to do it, in a political family. But in case exposure isn’t enough, there is a sort of P.S. attached. Bo can marry Ramona if he wants.

No word yet on Bo’s reply. The Doggie Dash attracts thousands of dogs (and their owners) to the Portland every spring. This year the event aims to raise $450,000 for animal shelters.
