On Saturday, the White House finally released a photo of President Barack Obama shooting a gun in an effort to squelch the ongoing controversy as to whether Obama was telling the truth or not last week when he said he had done some skeet shooting regularly at Camp David.
Obama's Skeet Shooting Claims Doubted
Since Obama made the claim in an interview with The New Republic magazine in their February edition of the publication, there have been multiple published claims that the president was simply trying to appear gun-sportsman-like for political folly regarding gun control. Though it took nearly a week, the White House has produced a photo of Barack Obama holding a rifle, cocked on his right shoulder, smoke coming out of the front of the gun with his finger on the trigger – alleging that he has indeed shot a gun in the past.
While the photo doesn’t support his claim that “we do skeet shooting all the time,” it does support the fact that he has shot a gun – likely at the presidential retreat in Maryland – in the past.
