In an evergrowing list of illegal aliens, President Obama refuses to deport, even though it violates US law, are the parents of the so called "Dreamers". The move was cheered by groups who support open borders. Opponents point to the move as another attempt by the Obama regime to bypass congress and US law, in order to legalize all 11.5 million illegal aliens in the country.
President Obama's efforts are roundly criticized by groups on the right and on the left. In particular, the Black American Leadership Alliance, who marched against amnesty in Washington D.C. remain adamantly opposed to Obama's policies. They point to an unemployment rate of 41% among young black American citizens and the possibility that would soar with the legalization of over 11 million illegals.
Ironically, the Obama regime has sued several state laws dealing with illegal immigration on the grounds that they do not coincide with laws passed by congress nationally. If that is truly their belief, then how can they justify violating those same laws themselves. In April, a federal court ruled that the president cannot use the DHS to circumvent the law. Obama ignored the ruling as he has all other court decisions.
Rep Robert W Goodlatte, R-Va, Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, remarked, “President Obama has once again abused his authority and unilaterally refused to enforce our current immigration laws by directing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to stop removing broad categories of unlawful immigrants.”
In another recent court case, a federal court ruled that the Obama regime cannot ignore laws passed by congress merely because it disagrees with them. No one seriously believes the Obama regime will obey that court order ewither as laws do not apply to dictators.
