Obama National Day of Prayer cancelled? Facebook.com rumor and photo of Obama Mosque prayer spreads
Just when folks thought they could see the 666 forming on Obama's scalp -- gotta admit, I stared for mal-shaped horns or some such substance as one of those Christians that Joyce Meyer jokes about "casting demons out of doorknobs" -- they can rest assured that today's rumor floating around Facebook.com that Obama cancelled the National Day of Prayer is just that: False!
Here's the email you may have gotten, claiming President Obama did away with the National Day of Prayer:
Obama has CANCELED "National Day of Prayer" held in May. He doesn't want to offend anybody. Where was his concern about offending Christians last January when he allowed the Muslims to hold a day of prayer on the capitol grounds. As a Christian American "I am offended." if you agree copy ... See More and paste no matter what religion you are, this country was built on Freedom PASS IT ON
But a quick Googling of "Obama National Day of Prayer cancelled" would have told us the truth before folks just pass this news on as Gospel and update their Facebook.com statuses with it, or create Facebook.com groups dedicated to the falsehood, or hit reply to the fake email and post their whole address book in the send field.

Really? Why am I still no convinced that he didn't cancel it? Perhaps because that's just what we would expect him to do. He is the biggest mistake this country has ever made. In short, he is an Obamination to this country of ours.
I would not be surprised in the least.
Thank goodness! I was about to break out the stakes and crosses for this blood sucker!
Its amazing that no one has accepted that he is a Muslim as of yet. The liberals just smile at you like they are oblivious. Get this idiot out already....He is a scam...DONT YOU ALL GET IT YET?
absolute idiots all of you GOP losers.
Obama just gets the job a year ago and every move he makes is an evil one. Bush creates two wars, thousands die, and no one says a word. Makes sense.
For the past eight years, the White House recognized the National Day of Prayer with a service in the East Room, but this year, President Obama decided against holding a public ceremony.
President Bush marked the National Day of Prayer with a service at the White House.
"Prayer is something that the president does everyday," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Tuesday, noting that Obama will sign a proclamation to recognize the day, as many administrations in the past have done.
Asked if Obama thought his predecessor's ceremonies were politicized, Gibbs said, "No, I'm not going to get into that again.
"I think the president understands, in his own life and in his family's life, the role that prayer plays."
The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance for people of all faiths.
Under the Bush administration, the White House hosted an interfaith service each year, inviting protestant, Catholic and Jewish leaders for an event at the East Room.

Our country was based on not only the freedom of religion but also freedom from religion. That's why people to this day hop on boats as they did hundreds of years ago to get away from religion controlling their their lives and their country.
Response to Betsy:
The Constitution protects against the forced observance or oppression of a religion. As the National Day of Prayer is neither mandatory nor faith-specific, it does not violate anyone's Constitutional rights. Nowhere in the Constitution or any of its Amendments can anyone find either of the phrases: 'freedom from religion' or 'separation of church and state'. This country was not founded so that its citizens could get away from all religion but rather that everyone could have the opportunity to worship freely (even if like the atheists/agnostics you wish to worship yourself).
Nice Mr or Ms Go&*&&^^^**)&%%, with a name like that, I see such intelligence and want to listen to what you have to say LOL
and Norm, Bush could have waited and maybe you'd be happy if another 2000 plus Americans were killed. At least he was not a coward.
There is NO separation of Church and state in the Constitution and the only reason it was ever mentioned by Jefferson was to teh Danbury Baptist Church who had heard rumors that there was going to be a STATE church, like they had left in England.
Shame on the person who posted this. If your going to find the false accusation in something don't do it with more false reporting! Obama did not cancel but DID announce he nor the white house would observe the day due to not wanting to offend anyone. Who is he going to offend, his Christian nation? I don't think so. It is a suttle but load message of betrayal. Americans are wonderful caring, open minded, open hearted people. We have made great progress in accepting diversity but we need to open our eyes too and protect our people because we have a large group of individuals that want to destroy us!We cant be so nice that we give our freedom and country away because we are naive. Get a back bone American, there's alot riding on it!
How skillfully news and facts can be turned 180 degrees from reality:
While I was in Houston last week I heard a big outcry from many plus internet and news outlets about our evil President cancelling the national day of prayer and only honoring the Muslim holiday of Ramadan. (see there he is a socialist, commie, non-American, anti-Christian Muslim!)
I thought to myself how could anyone do such a dumb, blatantly stupid thing?
Maybe we do have an anti Christian or some sort of black demon anti-Christ in the White House as many are saying we are all doomed!
However instead of believing the talking heads I dug deep for the truth, questioned the rumors and went straight to the core of the rumor and found that it was all an internet hoax!
Actually there was a US District Court ruling several months ago (Judge Barbara Crabb nominated by President Jimmy Carter on July 21, 1979) out of Wisconsin (having absolutely nothing to do with Obama) which ruled that the national Day of
