On Sept. 11 of 2012, Al-Qaeda forces launched an assault on America’s embassy in Libya and successfully assassinated U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens. The ambassador and his staff had taken shelter in a compound in Benghazi where they were supposed to be safe until help arrived. But during the ten hours that the assault lasted that help was not sent.

In Washington, it was afternoon when this attack began. The call for help went out through military channels as well as a direct line to the State Dept. The President, Barack Obama, and the Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, would be informed within minutes. Surveillance satellites would have been turned on the compound and watched events as they took place. Aircraft carriers in the Mediterranean would have been put on alert. Marines on assault ships would have gotten armed and ready. All nearby military units would be ready to go to their rescue.
At the compound, the ambassador and forty staff members huddled in fear knowing that upwards of a thousand terrorists were advancing on them. Their Libyan military guards left them, some informing the attackers where the Americans were holed up. Two former navy seals, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, manned a machine gun atop the compound and held off the terrorists for the next nine hours.
During the assault, the seals called repeatedly for help. They lit enemy mortar positions with lasers expecting a bombing run to take them out. In Washington, President Obama held rescue units back. He ordered the seals to stand down three times and allow the terrorists to overrun the compound and kill or capture the ambassador and everyone inside. The seals disregarded this order and continued their defense until a mortar shell killed them. They enabled the forty staff members to escape.
The next day, the president said the embassy was attacked by a crowd protesting a movie Moslems said was offensive to them. For the next two weeks, every member of the administration, including Obama and Clinton, went before TV cameras and talk shows to declare that the attack was due to a video, not because of Al-Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood who had taken power in Libya. In his second debate with Mitt Romney, he said he called it an act of terrorism, and was backed up by the moderator. Perusal of the speech showed that he lied and did not mention terrorism or terrorists until the end of his speech referring to the attack on the towers in 2001.
At her congressional hearing this week, like Obama, Hillary Clinton said she did not do what all the cameras recorded her doing in the weeks after the attack. She denied seeing communications from Ambassador Stevens protesting the reduction in his security detail inside volatile Libya and begging for more. That the Secretary of State, whose sole responsibility is foreign diplomacy and taking care of America’s embassies, to say she didn’t see such a communication is either an outright lie or supremely gross negligence. The embassy’s security could only be reduced on direct order from the Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, or the president.
Since that attack, Obama announced that Al-Qaeda was on the way to defeat, while their forces have gained more strength. They revealed that their objective was to swap the ambassador for the “blind sheik,” Omar Abdel-Rahman, who was convicted of plotting the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993. That President Obama sat back and watched the compound being attacked for hours and did not order any assistance to be sent, even ordered the Seals to stand down and not protect the embassy, is a betrayal of his oath of office.
Yet, no one in Washington or from the embassy is coming forth to tell the truth. None of those who escaped have given interviews. The president and secretary deny all knowledge of what went on, even denying that they watched it as it happened. This Benghazi cover up is so blatant that when Biden denied they watched what happened during the vice presidential debate, Paul Ryan actually gasped. Such bald-faced lying has become the cornerstone of Democrat misinformation.
That Americans re-elected this administration after this travesty is betrayal of America and those who love America wonder what they are thinking. No doubt, as Rush Limbaugh says, they are liberals and they are lying to themselves as well as to everyone around them. There is nothing Republicans have ever done that comes close.
When challenged in the congressional hearing about citing the movie as the cause, Hillary erupted, “What difference does it make?” One wonders if that’s what she told the families when they asked why their loved ones were killed. Imagine if George Bush had said, “So what if Iraq didn’t have WMDs when we invaded? What difference does it make?” Or if he said, “So what if we had people who knew bin Laden and Moslem terrorists were plotting to bring down the World Trade Center? What difference does it make?”

Obama and Clinton denying knowledge or responsibility for the deaths of Americans in Libya is dirty, no good, and low down. Since coming once again to power in Washington in 2007, nothing Democrats have not done a single thing that has been for the good of the nation. Sixty million Americans voted to keep them in power. The other two hundred and forty million wonder why?
