Obama is scaring the public not providing solutions with sequester. Friday, March 1 will implement the budget sequesters. The sequester implements automatic cuts to the federal budget. The sequester is President Obama’s recommendation and Congress agreed because neither side reached any budget agreement in 2011. For over a year, Obama insisted he was going through with the sequester. In typical hypocritical posturing, Obama is attempting to scare the country instead of showing leadership. He’s now saying the country couldn’t afford such cuts. The sequester involves across the board reduction which totals 2%.
He has ordered cabinet members to tow the company line and reiterate how drastic the cuts will be from closing Yellowstone National Park to cuts in first responders and teachers. When in fact, teachers and first responders are paid by local tax revenue. But when has Obama ever told the truth when delivering an argument? We’re still waiting to hear the truth about Benghazi and Fast and Furious. Obama isn’t interested in solutions. He’s only interested in casting blame on Republicans.
The federal budget will be approximately $3.7 trillion this year and there are no actual cuts from the sequester. The departments are not getting the proposed raises. That is the truth. Currently there are 15 million Americans unemployed. They are the ones taking extreme cuts.
Let’s put our example more simply. Instead of using $3.7 trillion, we’ll use $3,700 and the 2% figure in question is $80. Yes, $80. Any real American in the private sector can walk the halls of the Commerce Department, Education Department and the EPA and find more than 2% waste and abuse in our Federal Government. These pompous bureaucrats could eliminate first class travel and no purchases of iPhones and computer equipment for two years. They can have higher co-pays and contributory insurance plans and eliminate pensions to new hires. Those are very painless solutions.
Tonight Show Host Jay Leno joked Obama’s handicap is he doesn’t understand the economy. It’s not a handicap. It’s a national hazard.
