Obama ignores 99ers during Twitter Town Hall

Yet again they came flooding in, questions from 99ers on twitter to their President, the shadow people who exist seemingly without acknowledgement by employers and their Government. A Government they have paid for, a Government that they have had a hand in choosing.

President Obama never sees the metaphorical outstretched hand of the 99ers during these town halls, never picks the questions from the 6 million consumers who can’t pitch in and help this economy, the soon to be homeless, and the parents of children whose futures never will be. All invisible, all helpless without leaders willing to lead.

“President Obama again has proven that the plight of the 99ers is not part of his agenda.  I guess he is okay with millions going homeless on his watch.” said Rhonda Taylor, a 99er advocate and activist.

Ms. Taylor expounded on her view of the President’s performance and the overall attitude in Washington toward 99ers when I asked her if this President is simply banking on the eventual disappearance of 99ers or if he is simply without any ability to do anything or say anything fungible?

“This President is banking on the 99ers not being noticed.  If we were noticed and counted in the UI rate it would shed new light on the supposed recovery.

The sad part is this President has his agenda, the Republicans have theirs and the 99ers just don’t fit into either one.

That is the true problem with our politics everyone wants to be re-elected but no one wants to REALLY govern.
Letting Americans go homeless, loose everything they worked so many years to build, leave them out there with no life preserver is certainly not the American way no matter what side of the political divide you are on.”

With President Obama, Speaker Boehner and their two respective parties seemingly committed to attrition by way of poverty’s bleak evolution, one has to wonder how any 99er can still identify themselves as a Democrat or a Republican and how any politician can still think that they can count on their vote.
