President Barack Obama asked an HBO executive for advanced episodes of the two hit shows, “Game of Thrones” and “True Detective.” There’s no word if his request was honored, but who knew that Pennsylvania Avenue’s most prestigious address held a fan of these two very different type of shows.

According to The Wrap on Feb. 17, it is well-known that the President is a fan of “Homeland,” and apparently he also has enough time in his busy schedule to follow “True Detective” and “Game of Thrones.”

The Commander and Chief wanted to spend the President’s Day holiday catching up on these two shows and then have a few new ones waiting in the wings to view. The President made this request last week when he and First Lady Michelle Obama hosted the state dinner in honor of French President Francois Hollande.

What do you think about this, should the President score advance copies of two of the most popular shows on TV? Should he even take the liberty and ask the HBO executive for this specialized treatment? Chances are this request was made in a joking manner.

This would just give his critics one more thing to harbor angst, because this would mean he would know something that the majority of other people wouldn’t. That would be how the “Game of Thorns” and “True Detective” shows are progressing when everyone else has to wait!

Do you think that HBO keeps such a tight lid on these shows that they would turn down a request from the man who holds the most significant position in the world today?
