According to Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite (R-Florida), the House of Representive Democrats and President Obama's healthcare bill essentially tells senior citizens to "drop dead."
Despite their promise to care for our seniors, Democrats have decided that it's too expensive to care for my senior constituents and everyone else's constituents.
This bill would cut an additional $156 billion from the Medicare Advantage program in order to pay for the government expansion of healthcare for the young, the healty, and the wealthy.
Brown-Waite maintains the cut in Medicare Advantage is not the first attack on senior citizens this year because in March the Obama adminstration announced that Social Security recipients would not receive a cost-of-living increase.
Congresswoman Brown-Waite
The Congresswoman's fears are backed up by an article in the medical journal The Lancet (January2009) in which Obama's special health policy advisor Ezekiel Emanuel wrote that if healthcare has to be rationed, he prefers the
complete lives system, which discriminates against older people.
Obama Health Advisor Ezekiel Emanuel
According to Dr. Devon Herrick, a senior fellow at the National Center for Policy Analysis,
Dr. Devon Herrick
Emanuel believes young adults should be given preferencial care over seniors because they have more years of their life ahead of them.
This is not the first time that Dr. Emanuel has suggested that health services should not be guaranteed to "individuals who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens. He said:
...an obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia.
Obama's health policy advisor Emanuel's philosophy appears to be eerily reminiscent of Germany from 1933 to 1945.
During that time, Germany's National Socialist (Nazi) government under Adolf Hitler used its monopoly of authority to attempt to rid German territory of people who did not fit its vision of a "master Aryan race." Many other groups were targets of persecution and even murder under the Nazis’ ideology, including Germans with mental and physical disabilities, homosexuals, Jews, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Gypsies, Poles, and Soviet prisoners of war.
Obama healthcare reform has set off euthanasia concerns as it appears to result in denying care to a significant number of Americans, especially seniors. Conservatives have been arguing that a government takeover of healthcare will allow Washington bureaucrats to use "comparative effective research" to dictate to doctors which treatments they should prescribe and how much these treatments should cost which would look to rationing of care.

There were only approximately 6000 Jehovah's Witnesses in Germany during the 1930s-40s. While many of those 6000 German JWs were repeatedly arrested during the 1930s and 1940s, only a fraction were jailed or imprisoned for any significant length of time. Only about 200-300 German JWs lost their lives, and the majority of those died from any number of causes other than having been executed. Approximately 1000 JWs from other European countries lost their lives while incarcerated by the Nazis. During that same time period, there were more Jehovah's Witnesses arrested and jailed in the United States than in Germany. In fact, from 1941 until 1945, approximately 4500 American Jehovah's Witnesses "elected" to go to prison rather than serve in the U.S. Military and go fight against those same Nazis who were committing those atrocities. Approximately 3000 of those 4500 American JWs even rejected "conscientious objector" status in which they were offered substitute "non-combatant" work.
Good for James Janes and his attempt to make the Nazi's look "not so bad". Obama's healthcare plan will kill off the "baby boomers" faster than the Nazi's killed Jews.
Interesting facts about the Witnesses during that time, James. I don't appreciate you saying "American Jehovah's Witnesses "elected" to go to prison rather than serve in the U.S. Military and go fight against those same Nazis who were committing those atrocities." In Germany Witnesses also refused to go to war. If Catholics and Protestants had refused to go to war in America and in Germany, there would not have been a World War II. If other religions in Germany hadn't supported Hitler, there also wouldn't have been any of this. Just a thought!
the author of this article is an uninformed imbecile, and so is ginny brown-waite. this is nothing but stupid propaganda with no basis in truth.
What is the volume number, page number and title of the artical Ezekiel Emanuel wrote to the medical journal 'The Lancet' (January2009)
