Obama gun photo emerges in midst of gun control battle

A President Obama gun photo has emerged from the White House in the midst of a tense time in our nation regarding gun control. No one has been more vocal about the need for toning down the need for firearms than Obama since the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting that occurred Dec. 14.

According to Business Week Feb. 2, the photo of Obama firing a shotgun was snapped while he was shooting clay targets at Camp David last summer. The picture is dated Aug. 4, 2012 and shows the President in a blue shirt, jeans, and ear protection as she was shooting the gun.

The photo was released in an effort to show Obama critics that he, in fact, goes skeet shooting.

The President is advocating for stricter gun laws and wants tighter regulations on automatic weapons. He's made it clear that he's not opposed to the nation's Second Amendment.

This is what Obama said recently when asked by a reporter if he ever fires a gun:

"Yes, in fact, up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time."

"Not the girls, but oftentimes guests of mine go up there. And I have a profound respect for the traditions of hunting that trace back in this country for generations."
